Land Pooling Policy

The Punjab Land Pooling Policy 2025, a new initiative developed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Government of Punjab is a forward–thinking initiative toward sustainable urban growth by aggregating fragmented land with land owners as participants in planned development. The purpose is to streamline the process of compulsory land acquisition by giving land owners a fair and transparent return in the form of developed residential, commercial, industrial or institutional land, in exchange for their agricultural land. The Punjab Land Pooling Policy 2025 is intended to accommodate the emerging needs of urbanization while supporting equitable development, with an emphasis to simplify land transactions, support private involvement in development and increase necessary public infrastructure throughout the rapidly changing urban landscape of Punjab.
